Yad Chaim Weizmann

"Yad Chaim Weizmann" is a memorial center for education and culture, based on and inspired by the legacy of Dr. Weizmann, the founding father of the state of Israel, who saw the establishment of the state as a framework that would promote a variety of Jewish streams, ensure equal rights for all its citizens, and cultivate a passion for knowledge and solidarity within it.

Weizmann's curiosity, wonder and experimentation as a national leader and a creative scientist, are the source of inspiration for the activities of the "Yad".

The "Yad" fulfills its vision by preserving the Weizmann Estate, opening it to the public, and promoting educational and cultural activities that are responsive to the diverse dynamics within Israeli society, with the aim of being a source of inspiration and a platform for fruitful and enriching dialog.

Yad Chaim Weizmann was established by the Government of Israel and the World Zionist Organization on June 15, 1954. It is dedicated to the preservation of the memory and heritage of Dr. Chaim Weizmann, the first President of the State of Israel.

Yad Chaim Weizmann is responsible for the Weizmann Archive, which keeps all Dr. Weizmann's writings as well as tens of thousands of documents and items of correspondence with statesmen and important figures from all over the world.  Weizmann House is surrounded by the 12.5-acre  Weizmann Estate, which includes parkland, the graves of Dr. Chaim and Dr. Vera Weizmann, and the Memorial Plaza featuring a monument by Dani Karavan honoring Holocaust victims.
